Are you a veteran struggling to transition into civilian life or come to grips with an emotional issue related to your service?
As a veteran myself, I understand the challenges faced when reintegrating into the civilian world. Regardless of whether you served in combat or not, there is a struggle to mesh military experiences with non-military life. My hope is to empower you to find belonging.
Are you experiencing challenges as you come-out and attempt to live authentically as an LGBTQI+ community member? Are you dealing with acculturation or inclusiveness issues as a member of the Hispanic/Latino (Latinx) community?
I understand the challenges of being different and how the outside world can affect our sense of acceptance, safety and wellbeing. I can help you navigate these challenging experiences and feeling so that you can find your place and peace within your world.
Are you a caregiver who provides care for a loved one with either a visible or invisible disability or serious health issue/diagnosis and feel overwhelmed and need support?
Caring for a loved one who is living with a disability or illness, whether visible or invisible, can be very overwhelming. As someone who also had to do so, I know how stressful this can be. There is a way to provide caregiving and still live life with joy. Together, we will explore ways to handle the stress and emotions that come with being a caregiver in a nonjudgmental environment.
Has a trauma affected the way you feel and think? Are you dealing with depression and need help to move forward?
No trauma is too small or too big to get help for. As a 9/11 survivor, I understand the magnitude of trauma, including survivor’s guilt and denial. I can help you navigate this healing journey and together we can deal with the depression that often follows trauma.
I serve adolescents and adults from all communities and walks of life. I specialize in offering culturally competent and affirmative counseling and therapy to the Hispanic/Latinx, LGBTQI+, and military veteran communities.
