Has an overwhelming or traumatic event left you feeling hopeless, frustrated, or withdrawn from life?
Are you fostering or adopting a child and need help with the transition?
Is your child struggling with a decreased interest in activities, moodiness, lack of concentration or heighten anxiety, panic attacks or racing thoughts?
Are you stuck on a negative thought or belief that is triggering a physical response in your body (i.e. racing heart, sweating palms, self-harming or suicidal ideations)?
I am extremely passionate about helping children, adolescents and families work through adoption, foster care, trauma, or stressful life transitions. My goal is to figure out the root of the problem, so you can resolve troubling symptoms and find strength and peace. I also help you build coping skills for when future stress occurs, you can overcome those challenges.
I have over ten years of experience working with children and adolescents from the foster care system and Department of Juvenile Justice, as well as working in the clinical side via school-based therapy over the last 4.5 years. My childhood as an “Army brat” taught me the ability to adapt to various individuals needs and provides me with a high level of acceptance for those I work with.
I’m a candid, sincere and diligent therapist who works to find the best approach for each individual client.
While I specialize in trauma-focused therapy with youth and adolescence, I also enjoy working w/ children (6+), young adults and their families around various topics, to include::
- Adjustment and Trauma Disorders (I am a rostered Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinician)
- ODD, disruptive behaviors
- Family Relationships, trust and communication
- Adoption (I have completed the National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative.)
- Mood disorders
- Stressors related to the Military Lifestyle
In addition to clients who are private pay, I am in-network with the following insurances:
