Jessica Swidryk, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Was your child recently diagnosed with a Learning Disability or ADHD and you are worried about the emotional effects?
Signs of emotional difficulties due to a LD are lowered self-esteem, anxiety, reduced motivation, increased sadness or irritability, or physical symptoms such as headaches or stomach aches. I can help your child recognize and navigate negative feelings, develop coping tools/skills, and help them build healthy relationships with peers and at home.
Is your child unable to manage their time, follow a task to completion, or remember what you’ve just asked them to do?
Children with ADHD/ADD commonly have decreased executive functioning skills. I can help teach your children to use creative and simple techniques to master these deficits.
Do you need help determining why your child is having difficulties at school?
Visiting a school is an effective practice to understand your child’s progress, or lack thereof, in classes and within social situations. I offer school support to problem solve and help advise teachers and school staff as needed. A separate hourly rate applies for school visits. Please contact us to learn about the different tiers of support I can help with.
Is your child having anxiety or struggling from the effects of divorce, loss, or a life transition?
I have 15+ years of experience and can help children with the uncertainty and doubt caused by major life events. Parents and children enjoy working with me. Kids say I am easy to hang out with and parents say I go to great lengths to help solve issues and understand the root of the problem.
