What Is Therapy?

Therapy is a process of identifying where you are getting stuck and learning tools to build a more loving and supportive relationship with yourself, which then transforms your relationships. Examples of commonly explored areas include relationship struggles, career frustrations, social anxieties, spiritual questions, life stage challenges and issues of identity.

Oftentimes, dysfunction in our upbringing can set us up for struggles as an adult. I create a family tree, or genogram, for each of my clients. Together we will walk through your life, from childhood to the present, highlighting any areas of your journey that might be important to explore. I administer two temperament tests that provide information about how you are oriented to the world and your style of dealing with stress and of connecting with others.

If are ready to make some progress towards feeling better, call or text me at 843-270-8024 or email me at Brooke@CharlestonCounseling.org to set up an appointment.

If you are hesitant about starting the process, come in for a free ½ hour visit to meet me and see what therapy is all about!
