Insurance

We do not file insurance, but will provide you with all of the necessary information for you to be reimbursed by your company.  If your policy has out-of-network benefits, therapy should be covered at a reasonable rate. 

If you are unsure about whether your policy covers out-of-network benefits (some do not), contact your company directly. Most plans will have a separate phone number on the back of the card for mental health/substance abuse benefits.  Ask your representative all of the following questions:

• Do I have out-of-network benefits?  (If not, under certain circumstances, the cost of therapy may be deducted as a medical expense on your taxes.)
• If so, do I have coverage for outpatient mental health counseling by a licensed professional counselor?
• If so, how many sessions am I provided per year and what is the “calendar year” of my policy?
• Do I have a deductible for these sessions, and if so, how much is it and how much has already been satisfied for this calendar year?
