About
Brooke Dooley

My mission:
To assist clients in creating successful and fulfilling
relationships and lives where they are reaching
their best potential.
My philosophy:
I have ten years of experience as a counselor
helping people deal with a variety of relationship
issues and struggles. I have a special
interest in teaching people useful
and effective skills to cope with overwhelming
feelings that can be triggered by
life stressors and relationship problems. I
also have success helping those who feel stuck
by a particular life stage or issue to identify
and remove their blocks to happiness and fulfillment.
My educational and clinical
background:
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Human
Communication from James Madison University in
1992 and worked for two years in Public Relations
before returning to Loyola College for
a Master’s in Counseling in 1994. Loyola’s
program had an extra focus in helping client’s
work through spiritual issues, as well as encouraging
counseling candidates to carefully explore their
own issues so that they would not interfere in
their work with clients.
After graduation, I was a counselor
and clinical supervisor for six years working
with adolescents and their families in Washington,
DC. I also had a part time private practice
working with adults who were experiencing a variety
of issues. After moving to Charleston,
SC in 2004, I founded the Charleston Counseling
Center where I see clients full time. |
