Counselor Lee Hartnett, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Did you start out a re-marriage with high hopes, but the challenges of a blended family are already threatening your relationship?

Is your relationship with your significant other feeling more like a battleground than a place of safety and closeness?

Are you searching for a way your family can find more connection and less chaos?

If you share some of these struggles you are not alone; I understand how challenging family dynamics can be. I have a passion for strengthening family and couple relationships while helping you improve your communication and deepen your understanding of one another. I am committed to resolving conflict through a goal oriented, solution focused approach and I will emphasize effective problem solving that reduces competition or divisiveness.

I also have extensive experience working with divorce and remarriage, including blended families. So many of us start a re-marriage with high hopes and optimism, only to find that it’s going to be much harder than we thought. Between the normal adjustment period for the couple, differences in parenting styles, children or adolescents at different stages of development, and the inevitable adjustments in any major life transition, the couple’s new bond can be severely tested.

I also work with children 9 and older who are experiencing anxiety, depression or are dealing with adjusting to a life transition. I understand how stressful seeing your child in pain can be and I will work closely to empower you in your parenting and teach you tools and techniques that work.

I have Bachelor’s degrees from the College of Charleston, an Educational Specialist degree in Counselor Education and Marriage and Family Therapy from University of South Carolina and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2007. Additionally I have been trained by the South Carolina Bar Association in Family Court Mediation.

I am in-network with the following insurance companies:

  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield (all plans)

For those clients wishing to use out-of-network benefits, you will often receive direct reimbursement for a portion of your sessions. Please contact our administrative staff to find out exactly what your mental health coverage is. For your convenience, our staff will submit all insurance claims electronically.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out for help today, suffering alone only makes these feeling worse and you deserve help and support during this tough season. Let me help you strengthen your family for generations to come.
