Candra James, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
CANDRA WILL BE MOVING TO OUR NEW GOOSE CREEK LOCATION, 105 CENTRAL AVENUE, STARTING EARLY NOVEMBER
Do you wake every morning with a sense of anxiety or depression?
Are you in a troubled relationship and are unable to decide whether you should stay or leave?
Are you struggling to overcome negative thoughts and feelings regarding a traumatic event?
In our work together I will assist you in navigating through complex life experiences to achieve a happier and more fulfilling life. No one wants to live day to day in emotional pain. Some people don’t express their pain because they don’t want to make others aware of their struggle. Other people don’t know how to make the pain go away. It brings me great joy to be involved in meaningful resolutions and observe the emotional evolution of clients.
I am trained to provide evidence-based therapy such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as other therapeutic techniques. I have experience providing individual counseling, group counseling, and support for parents of children who have experienced a traumatic event. I assist in the improvement of self-esteem in children and adolescents, and facilitate the strengthening of the relationship between parent and child.
Currently I am credentialed with the following insurance plans:
Blue Cross/Blue Shield (all plans)
Medicaid: Healthy Connections, Select Health/First Choice, Absolute Total Care
Value Options/Beacon Health Options
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston and my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in Charleston.
My ultimate goal is to provide you with the tools you need to begin healing and approach obstacles with new perspectives. My approach is tailored to the needs of the client and is grounded in unconditional respect and empathy. Don’t put off change and healing until tomorrow. Join me in a collaborative, trusting, and judgment free partnership.
